I think the reason we (our generation or people today) don't have an 'emotional' response to pictures of death and violence (i.e. charred man in truck)is because nowadays, films have such good special effects that we can recreate things like that(i.e. charred man in truck)so that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the 'real' and the 'fake'.....for this reason when we see a picture of violence and death, we have been so de-sensetised to things like that because of the films we watch, that it doesn't seen real or it doesn't guage a response like it done when special effects weren't that 'special' 10 or 20 years ago.....just my thoughts on the matter..... :D
also death and violence in video games has desensitised people nowadays
