Thank-you for the correction

That opens up a big debate about how we use our pre-existing knowledge to 'read' images. The soldier is obviously British to those who know how to read the signs - the gun, uniform, etc.

We can't know all the signs - which can lead to ambiguity and confusion. Sometimes photographers try to be open and honest - explaining themselves clearly. Sometimes photographers exploit the potential for misunderstanding.

If 'truth' is subjective and all photography is some kind of grey area - why do we need to have our work marked ?

Ha class Stuart I noticed too.
Anyway I was just wondering what you guys are witing about accidental pictures in the discussion wether a photographer should physically interfeere???
Has he interfeered although it was acidental? I am kinda lost with this one.

A hot off the press example:
James Purnell was late for a photo shoot with 3 other MPs.. so they did a photoshop composite of the picture they would have taken if he hadn't have been late.

Now they've had to make a apology for misleading the public. A fair cop? Or a knee jerk over-reaction?
I know what I'd plump for..
